Episode 2.1 Diddy and Tux return with Ezio back to Monteriggioni. Here, things get really crazy. History gets severely altered as Ezio is about to discover who he really is, being a video game character. Meanwhile, however, Ezio has to carry a box containing an Apple of Eden following a certain prophecy in Altair's Codex regarding a prophet and the two pieces of Eden. the Wumpa Fruit of Eden however, the one Crash Bandicoot made for Diddy and Tux, was not predicted by Altair to be one of these two Pieces of Eden. Ezio arrives at the site where he meets Rodrigo Borgia. All of a sudden, where it would be just Assassins and Templar fighting each other in the source material, a roster of retro video game characters shows up to join the fight, many of them which either are Assassins or Templars. Of course, the classic Sonic trio does not show up at this point. They show up at the very end. Ezio gets initiated into the Brotherhood officially as a fully trained Assassin while Diddy Kong gets promoted Master Assassin by Tux for being a constant and useful companion to Ezio Auditore.
Episode 2.2 Bigger battle in Forli follows. The Holy Roman Empire, aided by the special forces of England and France, leads the attack to aid the Assassins in a fight to defend planet Total War, now called Mobius II. In the midst of the fight, retro characters show up in much larger numbers, such as the Skylanders-type dragons, which serve the iSony for being part of the Spyro universe. Diddy Kong engages in a firefight with the Rareware Loyalists consisting of all kinds of guns from nearly every single era, ranging from the most primitive hand cannon to the most futuristic energy blaster. Writing this chapter inspired me to watch "Tales of the Gun" by History Channel as I remembered the lines in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, "Imagine firing a cannon from your own hands! Now that's the future!"
Episode 2.3 To find the last Chaos Emerald on Mobius II, Diddy and Tux would have to go way out into Timbuktu. No, really! I meant it literally! Like they actually have to go out into the middle of the desert controlled by the Moors and have to be led by the Sudanese tribesmen to a hidden crash site where Sonic hid the Silver Chaos Emerald. The environment looks apparently futuristic for the planet it's on. Diddy and Tux find references to Launch Base Zone from Sonic 3, Metropolis Zone from Sonic 2, after which they chase down another Kasplat to collect another page of Sir Gabriel's Codex, and finally Scrap Brain Zone from Sonic 1, after which they collect the Silver Chaos Emerald. After their return to Angel Island, Diddy and Tux combine the 5 Chaos Emeralds to locate where the remaining two are as well as the Master Emerald and decided to send the coordinates for the next step of the journey.
Episode 2.4 Diddy and Tux find the remaining Codex pages with Ezio Auditore. Not only do some of the Kasplats have a couple of pages for Diddy and Tux, some have some for Ezio too. For the remainder of time, the Kasplats will become the assassination targets of Diddy and Tux as they're responsible for the holding of sacred artifacts to collect, such as the Apples of Eden.
Episode 2.5 Altair's Codex forms a sort of map for Ezio to read. He sees the map of the entire world, including the Americas, which Ezio is not familiar with. However, exactly like Assassin's Creed 2, Antarctica does not show up on the map! That little detail combined with Altair's inability to swim and rather serious attitude in Assassin's Creed 1 is directly parodied by saying that Altair HATES penguins and therefore did not bother to draw Antarctica on the map. Ezio learned that the Second Piece of Eden refers to the Papal Staff. However, when Ezio intended to go after Rodrigo Borgia in the Vatican City, Tux suddenly remembers that the Holy Roman Empire's primary objective in Medieval 2 Total War was to conquer Rome and that the Papal States would gladly accept the Holy Land as their home in diplomacy options. This particular detail in said strategy game is parodied when instead of having to fight Rodrigo Borgia in the Vatican City, Ezio has to fight the Kaiser instead, being Sonic the Hedgehog, aided by Tails and Knuckles. It is therefore a boss battle but it is Ezio, Diddy, and Tux against Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, three against three. The fight ends when Diddy carries Sonic out into the water to drown him, thus ending the fight and the animus session. Monguins discuss with the crewmen of the Valkyrie ship from Titan AE, being Valentine Wiggin from Ender's Game, Sharon "Boomer" Valerii from Battlestar Galactica, Napoleon Dynamite, and Sir Gabriel and the Owlgle Armada, my original characters. The monguins try out their "bleeding effect" by constructing their own Rocketbarrel Boost as well as the Peanut Popguns, not to mention trying out Tux's Ninjutsu. The monguins also notice that they had picked up the talent of a fighter pilot as they tried out a couple of Vipers. The end credits scene shows just what the cover shows, Diddy Kong saving Sonic after drowning him.
